Yes, we survived all the drills . . .
Around the edges, we did some classwork:
3rd period--we had a chance to discuss the features of several recent social media sites. Why? to start invetigating how the medium controls such things as the content/scope of message, affects the style, reflects a purpose, and shapes the audience.
4th and 6th--students generated the raw material that will be the focus of a similar (streamlined) discussion tomorrow
Our ultimate purpose will be to see how a close look at current social media can be a contrastive model for looking at communication from the past, including literature.
