1.  This essay should have at least a 5-paragraph organization and should be about 3 full pages in length, 4 max.  You need to include ample direct textual evidence (quotes) from the book to support your ideas (7-9 quotes in all; focus on the part that counts). You must incorporate your quotes smoothly into your paper.  The must be a complete introduction that must, of course, include the author and title of the novel.

2.  The paper must adhere to the department expectations.  The four areas are 3rd person point of view, integrated quotations, proper MLA formatting (including Works Cited), and correct pronoun usage. (Don’t use YOU. No mistakes for its/it’s.)

3.  You must upload your writing assignment to turnitin.com by the due date or it will be considered late.  Period.  If you paper is uploaded into the late folder, it is late and deductions will apply.  Remember, you can cut and paste your paper into the site; that might alleviate the problems some of you have had.  Do not consider your paper uploaded until you have received your confirmation from turnitin.com.  Your paper will be considered on time or late according to the online copy submitted to turnitin.com.  A hard paper copy is optional for this assignment!

4.  Remember that you must include in-text citations (page numbers) for quotes you use.  The author’s name shouldn’t be necessary after the first citation.
