TODAY IN CLASS
1. I checked the Monk worksheet for completion/overall quality
2. Students worked independently on completing worksheet for the Friar.
3. Students worked in (new) groups to a) compare their worksheets/make additions as needed, and
b) use questions on the overhead to deepen understanding beyond what "meets the eye." What is Chaucer really wanting us to think about the Monk?
Then, students were given specific group assignments, based on Group #. EVERYONE is responsible for the Friar, and that's where discussion will begin tomorrow. But if you were in class today, you should have the Friar already filled out! :)
But FOR TOMORROW, each individual should fill out the worksheet for the next TWO pilgrims as assigned to their group. 4th and 6th, you got sufficient paper to do this, and you also were reminded to remember your group number.
3rd--I forgot to ask you to remember your group number. See below. I also forgot to pass out extra paper. You should have one blank side--use it. Use your own paper to record the same information for your second pilgrim. Thanks.
HERE ARE THE ASSIGNED PILGRIMS FOR EACH GROUP\
Group 1: Friar, Merchant, Cook, Plowman
Group 2: Friar, Oxford Cleric, Skipper, Miller
Group 3: Friar, Sgt. at the Law, Doctor, Manciple

Group 6: Friar, Merchant, Wife of Bath, Summoner (6th only, and yes, there's some repetition)
EVERYONE--we will finish up with the Pardoner, and everyone will work with the Pardoner
