TODAY IN CLASS
New rules in the New Order.  Tomorrow there will be some deletions and some additions.
Be prepared to assume some additional roles.

There was a hand-out of very straightforward questions over the first large part of 1984. Students had a few minutes to complete 1-5, time to discuss the irony of the names given to the ministries, and the opportunity for sharing about the historical counterparts of the "Young Pioneers."

FOR TOMORROW
1) Make sure you know the dictionary meaning of proletariat, then look it up in an encyclopedia. Know how the term was used--and in which countries--during the 20th century.  Five daily bonus points to anyone who can prove that you consulted The Encyclopedia Britannica rather than Wikipedia.

2) Read to p. 62 (up to VI) and continue answering the Part One questions as far as that reading point will take you.
